RAW is a studio portrait experience for people who want photographs that feel honest instead of rehearsed. These aren’t built around perfect smiles, standard business poses, or trying to look “camera ready.” They’re created from genuine expression, quiet moments, subtle direction, and the personality that’s already there.

Every RAW session is different because every person is different.

What is a RAW Session?

A RAW Session isn’t about looking polished.

It’s about looking like yourself.

Some portraits are direct. Others are thoughtful. Some are dramatic, while others are understated. A finished image might be tightly cropped, waist-up, centered, off-center, black and white, or full of negative space.

There’s no formula because there’s no single definition of authenticity.

The goal isn’t to create another corporate headshot.

The goal is to create compelling portraits.


Is RAW Right for You?

What to Expect

RAW is a studio-only portrait session designed around creativity rather than consistency.

Instead of working through a checklist of poses, we explore expression, light, shadow, movement, and composition to create portraits that feel distinctive and personal. I’ll offer guidance when it helps, but the session isn’t about forcing smiles or perfect posture.

We’ll spend about an hour creating a small collection of images with personality, character, and intention.

Because every RAW portrait is crafted individually, the final photographs are selected and finished by the photographer rather than chosen from a proof gallery. The final presentation is part of the creative process.

Studio only

The studio gives us complete control over light, shadow, mood, and composition. Instead of documenting your environment, we create one specifically for you.

40–50 minutes

There’s no rush. Every session develops differently.

Three finished portraits

Each image is individually edited in the style that best suits the portrait—whether that’s black and white, subtle color, rich tones, or something in between.

How RAW Began

After photographing thousands of people, I noticed something surprising. Some of my favorite portraits happened in the quiet moments—while someone was listening, thinking, making a small adjustment, or simply being themselves. Those images often felt more honest than the ones we were intentionally creating.

RAW grew from that discovery. Today, it’s a portrait experience designed to purposely capture that same authenticity.

FAQ

Wear something that feels like you.

There’s no dress code. Some people arrive in a blazer. Others wear a favorite sweater, denim jacket, black t-shirt, or well-worn leather boots. Choose clothing that reflects your personality rather than what you think a professional portrait is supposed to look like.

Simple textures and solid colors tend to photograph beautifully. Avoid large logos or busy patterns unless they’re genuinely part of your personal style.

Arrive ready to be photographed.

RAW is about creating authentic portraits, not rushing through outfit changes or extensive hair and makeup. Wear something that feels like you and arrive camera-ready so we can spend our time making photographs, not getting ready for them.

If you’d like to bring one simple outfit change, that’s perfectly fine—as long as it doesn’t take away from the creative time we have together.

I’ll provide subtle direction throughout the session, but the goal isn’t to create perfect poses. It’s to create portraits that feel natural, expressive, and true to you. Some of the strongest images happen in the moments between directions.

RAW is a curated portrait experience.

Unlike a traditional headshot session, the final images are selected, cropped, and finished as part of the creative process. Rather than choosing from dozens of similar expressions, you’ll receive three completed portraits created with the finished image in mind from the beginning.

Final images may be presented in black and white, color, or subtle toned finishes depending on what best serves each portrait. That makes every session unique.
